Did you know that ticket sales make up less than half of our annual income? As a charity, Techniquest is reliant on your support to keep offering educational, inspirational services to communities in South Wales.
Friends of Techniquest is our membership scheme for people who are passionate about STEM and want to support their local science and discovery centre. For just £5 a month, you become part of our exclusive, members only group; helping our cause but also getting rewarded for your donation.

It’s easily possible to make a few of your fivers back through fantastic discounts in centre. We hold free access days on select Sundays throughout the year to allow supporters and local community organisations to enjoy our exhibition away from the crowds. You can get 10% off the ticket price and all food and drink at After Hours and save 10% on purchases in our gift shop, too!
We like to hold coffee mornings alongside our special events to provide a VIP experience wherever possible. Bespoke events also provide a chance to hear from key stakeholders and to see new exhibits before the general public.
A behind the scenes experience
At the end of August, we invited 60 of our closest Friends and supporters to hear from the architects, designers and builders behind our upcoming 900m2 expansion. Over a few hours and a light breakfast, we heard about the key decisions behind our expansion, got to ask questions of the experts and had a peek inside the construction site. Perfect for those who like to network with business leaders as well as those who are simply curious!
What’s on the horizon…
Our new Science Capital expansion is quickly gaining shape and promises more opportunities for new Friends to enjoy behind-the-scenes opportunities before we launch to the public in Summer 2020. With all the new space and exhibits we’ll soon have to play with, there’s never been a better time to sign up!
