Techniquest

On the 22nd and 23rd of June, thousands flocked to the streets to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pride Cymru and enjoy great food and music at Cardiff Castle.

And across the two days, we set up our stall in the Family Area and ran colourful activities for those that just needed a break from all the dancing.

Children and adults alike used magnets to paint their own designs on our canvas — which we’ll display proudly in our science centre — blew massive bubbles, and showed their support with their Pride-themed Techniquest badges.

Attendees were also treated to performances from headline act Vengaboys on Saturday, while Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters took the main stage on Sunday.

The stall was run by our Outreach Officer and three science hosts, and marked the third consecutive year that we’ve had a presence at Pride Cymru.

Without the support of the LGBTQ+ community — from those that represent us on the exhibit floor to those that enjoy our science centre year-round — we would not be where we are today.

We would like to thank Pride Cymru for welcoming us back to their fantastic and important event, as well as everyone that stopped by over the weekend. Here’s to many more years of taking our centre on the road and bringing fun science to Pride!
