In April, the Techniquest workshop team completed the latest exhibit for the exhibition floor — an exhibit based around gears.
The team developed and installed two exhibits that allow visitors to experience and investigate the properties of gears and the underlying mechanical principles.
As well as examining the mathematics behind gearing ratios, the exhibit also demonstrates unusual and unintuitive gearing combinations and shapes, that both amaze and astound viewers.
