Techniquest, the science discovery centre based in Cardiff Bay, has unveiled a brand-new website as it charges full steam ahead towards the next generation of STEM learning.
The new website, launched last week, took 10 months of work and preparation. Techniquest collaborated with Core, also based in Cardiff Bay, to create a slick, user-friendly design, which uses high-quality visuals and images, multimedia and the ultimate accessible font.
As a premier destination in South Wales for family fun and educational visits, Techniquest aimed to create a new website that was visually appealing, and easy to navigate, while keeping the identity of the centre intact.
The new website embraces a fresh approach to the Techniquest branding, remaining faithful to its heritage but providing a brand ‘refresh’, while adding a host of capabilities and visual elements to enhance the user experience.
Visitors to the centre can plan their visit, enquire about parties or other events, and learn about the educational programme, and now that the website is mobile optimised, can plan their visit on the go.
Visitors will also be able to take advantage of the new booking system, meaning they can simplify their visit by purchasing admission tickets in advance.
Dan Ketteringham, marketing officer at Techniquest, said: “At a time when we were looking to reposition ourselves in our audience’s minds, the collaborative approach Core brought to the project was enormously beneficial. The resulting website has absolutely achieved the aims set out at the beginning.”
Ceri Richmond, managing director at Core said: “It’s been really exciting working with Techniquest on their new website, crafting it into a shape that’s much more fitting for their brand.
“The focus for our work has always been to champion the end-user. Therefore, Techniquest’s new website is much more in tune with providing ease of access to information for the user and emphasises the rich programme of exhibits and events that they curate throughout the year.
“We’ve really enjoyed working with the team at Techniquest and we look forward to continuing the improvements throughout the next few weeks and months.”
