We are delighted to announce that we’ve been awarded a share of the ScottishPower Foundation’s 2024 funding, which will be used to support the second phase of our Ocean Extravaganza Project.
Building on the existing programme, Ocean Extravaganza: Part II involves adapting the live science show for a new audience and extending its reach across Wales through digitisation.
The funding from the ScottishPower Foundation will enable us to reach out to more than 4,000 children and young people with an inclusive and high-quality educational and enrichment programme, without the barriers of geographic location getting in the way.
Melanie Hill, Executive Officer and Trustee at the Foundation, said: “Projects like Ocean Extravaganza are a prime example of how the ScottishPower Foundation’s support is helping to create a better future.
“With this year’s projects providing vital support set to aid vulnerable people, communities, and natural ecosystems across the nation, it’s important for us to recognise and boost the incredible work of these charities.”
Twenty charities across England, Scotland and Wales have been awarded funding totalling almost £1.2 million for projects tackling a range of issues, from cost-of-living support, to promoting diversity and inclusion and raising awareness of the ongoing climate and biodiversity crises.

Our aim is to reach pupils across the whole of Wales and to inspire more of the next generation to become environmentally responsible adults, empowered with knowledge and ideas about how to take positive action.”
